I. X-Knife (X-Knife for brain lesions)

Taking advantage of the biological action of ionizing radiation, X-Knife combines the stereotactic technique and the unique technique of beam limitation (controlling and limiting the beam orientation and energy). Through image guidance, beams are focused by precise computer-aided localization and delivered to the target. Since the beams are as sharp as scalpels, the device is called X-Knife.

II. Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery

Microelectrodes or other micro devices are placed in a specific target in the brain through localization, by imaging and orientation with the help of a stereotactic apparatus, to record electrophysiolograms, take tissue samples, and remove tumors for diagnostic and treatment purposes.

III. Stereotactic Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)

Based on the practice of 3-D conformal radiation, Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy adopts the stereotactic technique. By varying the intensity of the beams across the radiation field, according to user specifications, doses can be precisely tailored to the 3-D contour of the target. This means a higher and uniform dose to target and a minimum dose to surrounding tissues.
